After earning her bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Barbara, Lauren found her passion for teaching when she worked for four years as a preschool teacher. Her love for travel took her overseas to Thailand where she lived and taught English at an elementary and middle school. Eventually, she moved to Washington D.C. to earn her master’s degree in International Education from American University. While living in Washington, she worked for a social justice/education non-profit that focused on rescuing and rehabilitating child labor victims overseas. Although she loved her work at the non-profit, she eventually realized that her true place was in the classroom with children. Lauren is excited to bring her passion for inquiry and project based learning to New L.A. Her goal as a teacher is to inspire her students to love learning by supporting their innate desire to ask questions, explore, and discover. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys visiting national parks, reading, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
