January Events

During the month of January we focused hard on our mission pillar, Engagement in the Community. Students learned about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his message of unity, equality and civil action.  Our kindergarteners learned from Dr. King that it is important to take a stand for what they believe in and they had a March on “Washington” with messages to take care of the Earth and treat everyone with respect. Our whole school community engaged in a service project on MLK Jr. Day to beautify the bridge on Burnside Ave. near the Middle School.  It looks beautiful and New LA students will continue to maintain the area.

This month we are also taking our first field trips of the year. First grade is going to the Aquarium of the Pacific and Second grade is going to LACMA, everyone is very excited.  We have started our recruiting for the 2018-19 school year.  Please see the enrollment page for more information on open houses and the enrollment process.
